Benefits of Skype for Business

Calls and video chats

Share screens and easily share content.

Availability visible, so others know if they can make a video call to you.

User-friendly interface.

Familiar to employees and clients.

Limited layout options

Skype for Business has a limited number of layout options. If there are multiple participants, they are displayed as thumbnails on the screen. Images of participants are then so small that individuals are indistinguishable if the meeting is held in a packed conference room. In addition, hosting video conferences with multiple participants in high resolution requires a huge CPU capacity, which is not usually available in an on-premise Lync environment (2010/2013), and is not provided by Microsoft in Office365.

Successful Skyping with clients

More and more companies are using the Microsoft collaboration solution Skype for Business (also called Lync). Skype for Business is highly suitable for one-to-one video calls using your own laptop. However, if you want to participate in video conferencing in the conference room, the webcam and speakers of your PC will not be enough. The video quality and presentation capabilities of Skype for Business often fall below requirements.

On premise, cloud or hybrid solution

Besides the Lync/Skype for Business integration solutions, we can also assist with the deployment of Skype for Business in an on-premise, cloud or hybrid solution. One of our experienced consultants will be pleased to explain this in more detail.

Professional video technology

Qconferencing provides the ability to connect the Skype for Business environment with videoconferencing systems in the meeting room or to expand the environment with equipment in the meeting room. In some cases this is possible by individually connecting the videoconferencing systems to the Skype for Business platform (on-premise or in Office 365). These can then be occupied by the user in a video chat from the Buddy List. The multi-point session is still hosted on Lync / S4B area. An widely used alternative is the public cloud service offered by LifeSize Cloud and Blue Jeans. Everyone connects easily, both Skype for Business users, participants in the meeting room and guests users from external locations.
